Literacy, Language and Numeracy (LLN)
Welcome to the Investors in People Literacy, Language and Numeracy pages. You will find information here to help you understand the benefits of reviewing Literacy, Language and Numeracy skills in your organisation
Why do you need Literacy, Language and Numeracy programmes?
People need skills and confidence to participate and contribute to their organisations. The most important generic skills - Literacy, Language and Numeracy - are the skills that:
  • enable people to process information and communicate effectively
  • give people the confidence and ability to cope with and be comfortable in a changing workplace
  • contribute to productivity and performance

 LITERACY LANGUAGE  NUMERACY

The reading, writing, speaking and listening skills people use to access information and communicate

Implementing Literacy, Language and Numeracy programmes can help your employees work to the best of their abilities and give them the confidence to:

  • go for promotion
  • take up training opportunities
  • participate fully in the work place
  • reduce costly mistakes
  • keep up with change
  • understand health and safety

The Investors in People Standard will provide you with a framework for implementing Literacy, Language and Numeracy programmes. No matter what size your organisation is the framework can give you an outline for achieving success.
